To assure a safe and smooth travel on the KKH, the Gilgit-Baltistan government announced a special highway task force. This task force is led by a serving major of the Pakistan Army while GB Scouts, Frontier Constabulary and elite units of the police force will be part of it.

This is a positive move towards the security of the tourists and local travellers. To provide the travellers optimum ease, the number of convoys shall be increased. Travellers face lot of delays and troubles due to limited number of convoys with security.
